Job description

Surgical Center Assistant

Under the direction of the Director or designee, the Surgical Center Assistant provides support services to the physicians and nurses in the Surgery Center. The primary responsibilities are centered on transporting and positioning patients; safely managing and maintaining surgical equipment, medical gases, and supplies; and maintaining a clean, neat work environment, well-stocked with needed supplies. Other duties include, but are not limited to, customer service and departmental efficiencies. Must be Bi-lingual English/Spanish:

We're seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated professional with:

  • Ability to perform all physical requirements pertaining to the maintenance of a clean environment.
  • Ability to transport patients and maintain patient care supplies.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials.
  • Ability to speak clearly and distinctly using appropriate English/Spanish vocabulary and grammar.
  • Capable of organizing and prioritizing work to maintain a harmonious daily workflow and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a courteous and cooperative working relationship with patients, families, and co-workers.
  • Ability to identify and differentiate specific medical equipment and patient care supplies.
  • Ability to sustain quality of work commensurate with hospital standards, government requirements, and established departmental guidelines.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in either workload or assignment.
  • BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $22.00 - $28.00 per/hr depending on experience
