What you will put into action:
We are looking for a Technical Support Scientist in Eden Prairie, MN.
The Technical Support Scientist is responsible for providing whey protein nutrition and technical support focusing on international markets. Under limited supervision, will drive new technical initiatives that fit within a growing global organization. This position looks to expand the use of milk and whey-derived ingredients (proteins, lactose, and other derivatives) to new and existing customers, and markets, and uncover new benefits to consumers. The primary function of this position will be to help sell ingredients from Agropur by serving as a liaison between the US-based technical teams and the international sales teams.
  • Collaborate with the regional Sales team to address customer-driven needs, prepare and present application prototypes for trade shows and on-site customer visits.
  • Proactively provide solutions to customers' requests in nutrition and food applications, working closely with the sales team.
  • Actively participate in customer communications (on-site visits/seminars/webinars, etc.)
  • Contribute to the development of presentation materials for customer presentations.
  • Build relationships, provide connections within the regional and global, technical, and commercial teams.
  • As warranted by business needs, organize scientific/technical symposia, conferences, and trade shows, internal and external training.
  • Identify business development opportunities and support the marketability of Agropur's dairy ingredients in innovative ways by utilizing strong knowledge and insights into food science and nutrition.
  • Engage consumers and experts with relevant content and provide technical support to customers.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams, marketing, and sales, to ensure the products are marketed effectively.
  • Develop technical information and work with marketing team to support the creation of marketing collateral and content for social networks.
  • Support the development and improvement of Agropur products through applications testing and quality optimization.
  • Record, collate, evaluate and interpret experimental and commercial data.

The profile that excels in execution:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Nutrition Science, Analytical Chemistry or related field required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a laboratory or dairy plant environment required.
  • Experience in product development preferred.
  • Familiarity with regional and local food, culture, and industry required.
