Contract Specialist Position Summary 

The Contract Specialist is responsible for coordinating execution of varying local contracts for the health system to obtain the highest quality products or services at the lowest possible cost. They lead contract review and negotiations submitted to Supply Chain and participate in vendor negotiations. The Contract Specialist supports the management of agreements held within the Supply Chain contract database and participates and represents TidalHealth at GPO meetings. They assist with GPO contract connection to ensure compliance with all Premier, Ascend, and GPO contracts, for the purposes of price connection and supply cost management. The Specialist provides support to the Purchasing Department, Value Analysis teams, leading teams on certain projects, and providing back-up assistance for other Supply Chain functions as needed. They routinely work with distribution partners, accounts payable, and buyers to resolve pricing discrepancies to maintain accurate pricing, and support the Contract Manager, Strategic Sourcing Manager, and Senior Director of Supply Chain with initiatives to bring value to the health system.

Contract Specialist Position Requirements 

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • College degree preferred. Work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience with contracts and/or negotiations. 

Contract Specialist Shift 

  • Monday to Friday 8am-430pm
  • One day per week is remote 
  • Travel to TidalHealth Nanticoke and/or TidalHealth Atlantic as needed
