The Supply Chain Technician ensures that all materials are received, stored, and distributed in a proper and prudent manner while maintaining complete accountability for inputting and retrieving data in the materials management module.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Data input experience
2. One (1) year work experience in inventory management or warehouse distribution
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assists and communicates with Buyers and/or Supply Chain leadership to maintain appropriate inventory levels and provides PAR level recommendations as needed.
2. Maintain an understanding of supply automation system(s) for daily restocking, inventory adjustments, and PAR level management, if applicable.
3. Maintains an understanding of the Medical Material Information System (MMIS) software and other technical equipment.
4. Enter (Key), fill, and deliver all supply requisitions.
5. Deliver supplies throughout the hospital in a timely and accurate manner.
6. Assist hospital employees with ordering supplies, to include walk-up and emergency orders.
7. Enter (Key) patient charges (If applicable)
8. Labelling of supplies with charge stickers if applicable.
9. Follow departmental polices pertaining to appropriate attire (scrubs, mask, shoe covers, etc.) when stocking specialty areas (e.g. OR and Sterile Processing)
10. Assist in mailroom functions and duties, including Do shipping on a daily basis (FedEx, UPS, etc.)
11. Maintain storeroom area, answering the phone and providing complete coverage.
12. Responsible for disposing all trash properly.
13. Participate in physical inventories.
14. Conducts cycle counts on a routine basis to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained.
15. Performs verification procedures before accepting any materials from carrier.
16. Performs physical verification and documentation of material contents received.
17. Documents the shipment on official records.
18. Maintains bone and tissue documentation from time of entry to facility for chain of custody per TJC standards.
19. Place merchandise and paperwork in proper areas.
20. Handle discrepancies on physical verification process.
21. Keeps dock, storeroom and receiving areas clean and orderly.
22. Operate material handling equipment (pallet jack, carts and hand trucks) safely.
23. Maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
24. Assist in courier runs to any and all areas, both in and out of state.
25. Restock supply items and perform routine checks for expired products on code carts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety standards.
26. Follow departmental and hospital policies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Manual dexterity and physical ability to stand, walk and handle materials for prolong periods of time.
2. Must be capable of lifting up to 60 pounds and pushing loaded carts weighting in excess of 600 pounds.
3. Must possess visual and oral acuity.

1. Ability to read, write and understand English proficiently.
2. Math skills necessary to count, inventory and convert each/box/case quantities.

5. Must understand and practice excellent personal hygiene.
6. Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the hospital.
7. Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with coworkers, staff, and guests.
8. Demonstrates knowledge of and follows correct chain of command in handling challenges and issues, including crisis situations.
9. Ability to organize and prioritize time and tasks to achieve a well-coordinated work effort and to effectively meet work schedules including the ability to integrate multiple factors which may impact patient care.
