Purpose of Job

Under general direction, the Supply Chain Strategy Analyst engages directly with business units and other corporate stakeholders to identify, structure and execute upon high-impact, cross-functional projects within Interstate Batteries' supply chain organization. The analyst will take initiative to develop hypotheses, assemble relevant supporting data and structure comprehensive business cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads supply chain analyses to support strategic decision making and new opportunities.

  • Summarizes analysis conclusions and project progress into concise presentation materials for leadership review.

  • Creates formal business case materials for Supply Chain projects.

  • Gathers, organizes and interprets relevant data from various sources and databases (costs, demand patterns, etc.).

  • Assists in quantifying and defining scope for capacity, resource, logistics and supply chain planning.

  • Develops and leverages deep technical/product knowledge and market awareness to inform strategic business decisions.

  • Collaborates with team members across the organization to ensure all key stakeholders have provided input on analyses.

  • Delivers value by ensuring all projects/engagements are driven to meaningful conclusions.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Technical or equivalent discipline preferred.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years working experience; including a role of similar responsibility/scale in Supply Chain, Operations, Strategy, Consulting or related field.

  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex supply chain problems with an appropriate sense of urgency.

  • Strong quantitative skills and ability to analyze supply chain management problems to develop and implement practical solutions.

  • Ability to push projects forward even if all requirements have not been defined.

  • Ability to build strong partnerships and "tell a story" is essential.

  • Passion to drive continuous improvement through identification of root-cause solutions to key business problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to create structured frameworks, analyze large sets of data, develop and communicate recommendations to others clearly.

  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel and database tools (experience with Tableau a plus).

  • Collaborates with business units, other corporate stakeholders and Supply Chain organization.

Work Environment
  • Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.

  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.

  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 20+ lbs.

  • Prolonged use of personal computer & telephone.
