A Director, Operations & Supply Chain Finance job in Paterson, WA is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE). This leadership role oversees financial planning and analysis for a $100M operations organization, including production, winemaking, and vineyard operations. Responsibilities include budgeting, capital investment analysis, COGS and inventory management, and partnering with business leaders to drive productivity, profitability, and operational excellence. The Director also leads and develops a high-performing finance team while serving as a trusted advisor and catalyst for continuous improvement.

Please Note: Successful candidate will need to be within commuting distance of our Paterson, WA location. This role requires 3+ days in office.

Responsibilities
  • Budget management for $100MM operations organization, including production, winemaking, and vineyard operations.
  • Capital budgeting responsibilities, including project evaluation with NPV/IRR. Ability to find and drive returns, perform analysis, post audits, etc.
  • Evaluate/Analyze COGS, including variances, and serve as catalyst for reducing costs / improving productivity.
  • Inventory monitoring and analysis, including establishment of provisions and impairments. Assists with driving liquidation efforts.
  • Partners with business to review results, identify opportunities, drive for results, and serve as a catalyst for change.
  • Lead and manage a team, providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback to drive results and support employee growth.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; MBA, CPA, or other relevant advanced degree/certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain finance in a similar leadership capacity.
  • Strong accounting and cost accounting background, including expertise in standard costing, variance analysis, inventory accounting, and financial performance reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience leading operational transformation initiatives, driving productivity improvements, process optimization, and operating model changes.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including expert-level Excel, financial modeling, and PowerPoint presentation development.
  • Experience with NetSuite, JD Edwards (JDE), or other large-scale ERP systems.
  • Proven ability to take a handsโ€‘on, resultsโ€‘oriented approach, identifying opportunities, influencing stakeholders, and driving initiatives through successful completion.
  • Highly detailโ€‘oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality, including experience establishing and maintaining effective financial and spreadsheet controls.
  • Strong analytical, problemโ€‘solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.
Compensation

$124,324.00 - $167,838.00 per year based upon relevant experience.
