Supply Chain Specialist 5851 Guion Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46254 IN100 Distribution Center Part-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm
10 - 28 hours/week OVERVIEW: Working as Part-time, Supply Chain Specialist, you will be a strategic link in the company impacting how Fastenal manages product flow both domestically and internationally. This position will work closely with other departments such as Operations, Logistics, Supplier Development, & Accounting to improve product flow efficiency. Regular decision making and strategy will help you be successful in this role. These decisions may include, but are not limited to, determining which products to bring into our distribution center stocked offering, optimal stocking locations throughout our network and appropriate inventory stocking levels by item. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Analyzing data and communicating results clearly o Supporting business needs o Collaborating with various departments o Designing implementation and support of corporate initiatives o Determining root causes o Aligning with business objectives within supply chain REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o 18 years of age or older o Prior administrative, customer service, or industry experience OR possess or are working towards a degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Business Administration, Math, Statistics, Data Science or a related Business field o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Work well independently and in a team environment o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Advanced knowledge of excel o Experience managing a book of business ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
