The Marvin Group is a Strategic Partner for Global Alternate Mission Equipment and Sustainment

The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS).  Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment.  Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. For over 60 years we have maintained “A Tradition of Excellence”, serving as a trusted source for our unwavering commitment to supporting all branches of the Department of Defense and our global allies. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position requires knowledge of the Aerospace and Defense industry and can developand execute cost and financial strategies to optimize supply chain performance, manage risk, and ensure compliance with stringent government regulations like the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). The role involves significant collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to align financial goals with program objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set the Supply Chain Finance direction by establishing strategic goals for material financial planning, materials spend management and priced BOM and CBOM materials budgets and reporting cost performance against established budgets. 
  • Support Forward Pricing Rate Development, Supply Chain Cost Center Budgeting,Program Direct Material Budgeting, Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Business Planning as required.  
  • Drive end-to-end cost improvements for contract direct and departmental overheadcosts including management of bidding and proposal costs for improving overall comp any profitability.  This wil l require working cross functionally with Procurement, Operations, PMO’s, Sales Development and Proposals teams, Inventory, Engineering, Materials and Warehousing management.  
  • Establish frameworks for tracking and analyzing inventory movements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with MRP systems, ensuring that Material Management Accounting and General Ledger and Cost Element costs are being properly charged. 
  • Oversee BOM to MRP comparison and reconciliation efforts, ensuring material requirements align with R&D Engineering and Production plans in support of Supply Chain and Operations management.  
  • Participate in root cause analysis to explain cost variances between actual manufacturing consumption rates and BOM standards and ensure that corrective actions flow down to lower material part numbers and commodity responsible Buyers.  
  • Build and maintain sophisticated cost models that incorporate cost reduction curves and appropriate improvement curves based on quantity across product lines and commodities as appropriate for extrapolating discrete unit costs and scaling assumptions over time. 

QUALIFIC ATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.  MBA is a plus.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Supply Chain Finance, Cost Accounting, and FP&A within the Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Deep understanding of MRP, Shop Floor Control Systems, BOM structures, inventory management principles, and manufacturing cost accounting. 
  • Proven ability to build complex financial models incorporating cost reduction curves, learning curves, and manufacturing scaling assumptions. 
  • Strong experience with variance analysis, cost reconciliation, and root causeanalysis in manufacturing and supply chain environments. 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve data integrity issues in complex ERP/MRP environments such as SAP ECC 6.0 or SAP S/4HANA. 
  • Experience with SAP Business Warehouse, Power Query, Power Pivots, Power BI, forquerying, analyzing, and validating data from SAP/ERP systems. 
  •  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy, coupled with strong communication abilities to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

SALARY RANGE:

Base Salary Range (Inglewood only):  $125,000 – $165,000
