Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Vice President of Supply Chain Management is responsible for timely and accurate analytics needed for the advancement of Supply Chain initiatives that improve operations related to Contracting, Logistics and Procurement. Supports the extended supply chain by performing research, providing reports and interpretive analyses in a variety of subject matter areas. Provides coordination and support to the Clinical Quality Values Analysis (CQVA) process through the processing of requests, maintenance of the opportunity database and validation of purchasing data for identified opportunities. Collaborates with and assists CQVA managers in facilitating cost reduction/standardization via analysis/research of clinical utilization and evidence-based practice. Provides analytics in support of sourcing operations using benchmarking analyses both internally and externally. Coordinates with the Manager of Contract Management to ensure validation and maintenance of pricing in the Contract Master.
Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the review, coordination and processing of "New Product Request" forms to include pricing validations and contract compliance considerations.
  • In coordination with the contracts manager, validates and maintains pricing in the Contracts Master for completed initiatives.
  • Provides monthly and ad hoc analytics to the Vice President relating to performance goals and metrics established annually for Contracting, CQVA, Inventory Management, Procurement and supply cost management.
  • Provides analytic support to the various managers and directors within the extended Supply Chain to aid in supply cost management and improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Coordinates with managers and directors to deliver interpretive analyses of data and research. Uses clinical utilization and evidence-based practice data to aid in the analyses.
  • Conducts benchmarking research and analysis, both internally and externally, in support of sourcing and CQVA efforts using the various tools provided by Covenant Health and its partners.
  • Is responsible for completing purchasing data validations for sourcing intiatives of Covenant Health and Supply Networks in which Covenant is a member.
  • Maintains the CQVA opportunity database, which captures and tracks the various initiatives undertaken as part of CQVA/sourcing operations and summarizes them for communication to Covenant Leadership.
  • Monitors utilization, standardization and compliance and works to advance appropriate resolutions where conflicts exist.
  • Assists with and/or coordinates the research, analysis and gathering of information for Requests for Information/Proposal.
  • Participates in the System Materials Council to collaborate on developing strategic initiatives and improve System operational processes.
  • Works with vendors on product evaluations, data submissions and other elements required for sourcing operations.
  • Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.
  • Collaborates with other support and Supply Chain staff to add value to the organization through clinical standardization, strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Promotes use of CQVA processes by physicians and facility leaders.
  • Provides consultation for medical technology assessment, and supply formulary consistency.
  • Coordinates with Supply Chain team during negotiation of contracts and commitment levels with vendor representatives.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree (business related preferred). Requisite experience in lieu of degree
Minimum Experience:
Business or Healthcare related experience three to five (3-5) years. Experience should include knowledge and skills in the following areas: data extraction and analysis, vendor relations, contract review, and request of proposal (RFP)/bidding preparation. Experience making presentations to both small and large groups. Ability to work with a variety of people including physicians, administrators, managers and staff. Must exhibit strong analytical and organizational skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Access and proficiency in other software applications, including MS Office Suite. Preferred Experience/Skill in: Purchasing, Contracts, Benchmarking and Accounting
