Description:

The Supply Chain Assistant is responsible for supporting the Buyer Planners to achieve customer satisfaction within their value stream. These tasks include MRO PO management starting from quote to receipt and MRO cost savings. This position owns the direct cost change tracking through the value stream for any changes to cost, MOQ, LT, due dates, or surcharges. In addition, the Supply Chain Assistant is directly involved with accurate direct PO confirmations, action messages, and customer compliance.

Essential Job Functions

· Assists Buyer Planners for continuity of supply of material to support production needs

· Complete MRO PO management.

· Responsible for maintaining correct MRO inventory levels for office material, cleaning suppliers and other MRO consumables.

· Track all PO cost changes to ensure no gaps in supply or customer price impact.

· Manage inputting approved supplier material cost changes to ensure correct purchase values.

· Confirms Purchase Orders and escalate variances of cost, quantity, or due date.

· Maintains customer compliance action item list.

· Resolve A/P issues.

· Track expedited freight in/out with 1st level pareto.

· Reviews material shortage reports to determine material requirements and priorities.

· Participate in root cause corrective actions for past due purchase orders and for inventory below / above optimized levels.

· Maintains excellent internal customer and supplier/customer relationships.

· Creates and maintains Work Instructions for this position following ISO 9001 & IATF 16949.

· Build strong customer and supplier relationships allowing for escalation communications to take place when issues arise.

· Drive troubled suppliers to provide detailed delivery plans that ensure 100% on time delivery. Supplier recovery plans should show when troubled suppliers are 100% compliant with MSW needs.

· Communicate with various internal departments to ensure all needs are being met.

· Take full ownership of the job matrix with back-up associates.

· Drive improvement through new processes, methods, and tools.

· Additional tasks may also be assigned as required.

· MRO Supplier on time delivery is >90%.

· Accurate direct cost change tracking and timely confirmations.

· All customer compliance requests are resolved before due date.

· Supplier compliant delivery recovery plans in place for troubled suppliers.

· On time material availability for production ensuring 100% on time delivery to customers.

· Right sized material stocking levels that support company inventory turn goals and 100% on time delivery to customers.

· Demonstrated strong customer and supplier relationships are in place.

· Demonstrated costs savings result in at least $5K of annual savings.

· Lead by proactively identifying issues and providing solutions such that production nor customers are affected.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

· Associate Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field or relevant experience.

· Minimum 3 yrs of buying, planning, or customer service experience in a manufacturing environment.

· APICS certification preferred.

· Strong experience with MRP systems and knowledge of operations/manufacturing flow

· Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel pivot tables.

· Strong negotiation, teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation skills.

· Able and willing to work all shifts and hours as required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position temporarily conducts the Buyer / Planner responsibilities as required.

Standard office environment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will need to be able to enter the production floor for assisting team with various material related issues. This will require walking and light lifting.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time on-site position. Standard office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Schedule may adjust depending on business requirements and need for overtime.

Minimal travel is expected for this position.
