  • Manage supplier qualifications to ensure that assigned suppliers are capable of producing material, and/or components that will consistently meet WKHS engineering drawing and specification requirements.
  • Manage a team of technically skilled SQEs by providing leadership in crisis situations, providing clear individual goals and provide the necessary guidance.
  • Conduct a thorough & disciplined APQP / PPAP process involving all internal/external customers-Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supply Chain and Suppliers
  • Conduct surveillance audits to ensure that suppliers have effective process control, rigorous product acceptance standards, and robust quality systems.
  • Be the technical focal point to coordinate Sourcing, Design & Materials Engineering functions while interfacing with suppliers.
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers to assure product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
  • Manage supplier non-conformance issues along with Manufacturing quality
  • Perform robust Root Cause Analysis to solve quality issues and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Drive suppliers to complete continuous improvement projects to improve top internal issue drivers.
  • Drive consistency and adherence to quality procedures and specification requirements and continually improve quality requirements standard/specifications
  • Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems.
  • Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking are required to solve problems.
Requirements:
  • 5 + years plus experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree- Engineering or equivalent, CQE preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to support suppliers through the assessment/qualification process.
  • Broad understanding of vehicle components, systems and functions across all commodities
  • Excellent team skills and ability to work independently with a high degree of integrity
  • Strong understanding of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100), Six Sigma, and APQP.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time
