Job description

Position: Senior Estimator
Reports to: Director, Estimating
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Pay Range: $100,000 - $150,000
We consider several factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates.
Superior is seeking a Senior Estimator who will be responsible for interpreting drawings, reading specifications, and conducting takeoff of electrical items. The ideal candidate must have the willingness to adapt to new technology, have strong technical and communication skills, and work well in a team environment. This role is based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs of electrical items, such as light fixtures, branch power devices and fire alarm devices
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely and accurate proposal submissions
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align scope across assigned projects
  • Apply labor factors for overtime, shift work, congestion, trade stacking, and schedule acceleration
  • Participate in cost negotiations with clients and general contractors
  • Maintain an up-to-date estimate revision log
  • Conduct site visits to understand field installation requirements
  • Coordinate with the Project Management team to align change order strategy with overall project financial goals
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, trade partners, and general contractors

Your Expertise
  • Required: You have at least 5 years of experience estimating in electrical construction
  • Bonus Points: You have earned an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field
  • Bonus Points: You have experience using Accubid and/or Bluebeam
  • Bonus Points: You have experience in electrical commercial construction
