Superintendent (General Contractor / Commercial Construction) โ€“ Nashville, TN

Elite Executive Solutions is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations for a growing general contractor in the Nashville, Tennessee market.

This opportunity is ideal for a proven field leader who enjoys managing complex commercial construction projects, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining aggressive schedules, and delivering high-quality projects safely and successfully.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day field operations for commercial general construction projects from mobilization through completion.
  • Manage subcontractors, field personnel, vendors, and onsite project activities.
  • Develop and maintain short-term and look-ahead construction schedules.
  • Coordinate daily activities across multiple trades to maintain overall project schedule.
  • Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and communicate project priorities and expectations.
  • Monitor construction progress, productivity, quality, and project milestones.
  • Identify potential field conflicts, constructability issues, and schedule impacts and proactively develop solutions.
  • Manage site logistics, deliveries, inspections, and sequencing of work.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, quality standards, and applicable building codes.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation.
  • Lead punch-list, inspections, turnover, and project closeout activities.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and project safety requirements.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of construction field leadership experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Previous experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or similar field leadership role.
  • Strong commercial construction experience across multiple trades.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating complex construction schedules.
  • Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, sequencing, and means and methods.
  • Proven ability to lead projects from site mobilization through final completion.
  • Strong scheduling, planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Experience with large-scale commercial, industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or similar projects preferred.
