What You'll Do:


  • Assist in classrooms by supporting teachers and students.
  • Provide direct academic instruction to individuals and small groups.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of students in various school environments.
  • Work closely with teachers and specialists to evaluate and support students' progress.
  • Help implement learning plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students.

LocationPositions are available to work with elementary, middle or high school students in all 14 Salina school buildings.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to pass a background check and health screenings.
Physical Requirements:
Varies based on assignment.  Some positions require the ability to engage in physically demanding tasks like lifting, crouching, and walking.
Other Requirements:   Must enjoy working with special needs students!  Strong communication and interpersonal skills. In addition to a high school diploma or equivalent, must obtain a passing score on the state paraeducator assessment, or have completed a minimum of 48 college credit hours.  Pre-employment criminal background check and TB screening required.
Pay Rate: $14.11 per hour.
Schedule: School year position - all student attendance days. Full or part time schedules available.
Benefits:   Full time employees are eligible for BCBS health insurance. KPERS retirement.
