Village of Promise is committed to nurturing each child’s development through compassionate, high-quality early childhood education. Our Summer Day Care Program provides a safe, engaging learning environment for our youngest learners.

Position Type: Seasonal (Summer Program)
Hourly Rate: Starting at $15/hour
Program Dates: June 1 – July 19, 2026

Village of Promise is looking for a caring, enthusiastic Auxiliary (Assistant Teacher) to support the Twos Classroom during the Summer Day Care Program. This position helps foster independence, early social‑emotional skills, and structured learning for children around age 2.

Essential Duties:

  • Support potty training and hygiene routines
  • Assist children with learning routines, transitions, and classroom expectations
  • Engage in hands‑on learning, art, outdoor play, and early STEM activities
  • Help reinforce positive behavior and social skills
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, developmentally appropriate classroom

Eligibility/Qualifications:

  • 18 years or older
  • Valid driver’s license or state ID
  • Must pass DHR suitability
  • Must complete Health & Safety Training before start date
  • Comfortable supporting potty training and emerging independence
  • Eligibility to pass a background check and drug test
  • Physically capable of lifting children up to 30 pounds and in physical condition to appropriately care for the students.
  • Eligible to work in the United States (E-Verify)

Program Requirements:

  • Paperwork due by May 21, 2026
  • Training to be completed before June 1

Please note: The program will observe two holidays occurring within the Summer Day Care timeframe. Staff will receive these days off, unpaid.
