Palmetto Bluff is nestled along the May River in the Lowcountry of South Carolina between Hilton Head Island and Savannah. As an award winning 20,000 acre development, the development encompasses a private member’s only club which includes a marina, restaurants, an equestrian center, a shooting club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, The Crossroads Reversable King Collins Golf Course, Anson Point Golf Course designed by Coore and Crenshaw, a lawn and racquet club, a community farm, and more. In addition, Palmetto Bluff has an extensive nature preserve, walking trails, retail shopping, art gallery, and a vibrant village, all which pay homage to the region’s rich heritage.


Job Summary:

Palmetto Bluff Club is looking for camp counselors to make the most of the summer. Counselors should be energetic, responsible, dependable, and enjoy the outdoors.

As a summer camp counselor at Palmetto Bluff, you get the opportunity to care for and guide campers each day in learning new games, developing social skills, exploring arts and crafts, diving into nature, embracing team spirit, and simply embracing the excitement of summer!


Essential Functions:
Job duties include, although are not limited to:

  • Leading and/ or assisting with various camp activities.
  • Always maintaining a safe atmosphere for campers.
  • Preparing camp supplies daily to ensure efficient time management.
  • Providing exceptional customer service.
  • Cleaning up/ breaking down activities at the end of the day.

Qualifications:

  • Comfortable working with children.
  • High School or equivalent is required.
  • CPR/ First Aid Certified Preferred.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • High-energy and have the ability to work in a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Physical Demands
  • Position requires walking; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 7 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
  • Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the Resort on a timely basis.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, running, repetitive motions, swimming, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • The use of a swimsuit will be required during certain water activities.
