Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School is seeking a Middle School Head Robotics Coach who will be responsible for developing and leading a dynamic robotics program that aligns with the school's mission and values. This position requires a background or interest in robotics, engineering, or computer science, and a passion for helping students grow as problem solvers, innovators, and team members. The Robotics Coach will guide students in designing, building, and programming robots for competition, while fostering a positive, collaborative team culture that emphasizes perseverance, creativity, and integrity. The position requires availability for afternoon practices and some night and weekend travel for competitions.

Requirements

  • Serve as the leader of the middle school robotics program and a positive role model for students.
  • Promote the robotics program within the school community, ensuring alignment with JPII's mission and values.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the robotics program, including practices, design reviews, programming, and competition preparation.
  • Support students in applying STEM skills such as coding, engineering design, electronics, and project management.
  • Manage program operations, including tools, equipment, scheduling, travel, and budgeting, in coordination with school administration.
  • Organize and oversee youth outreach, robotics clinics, and summer programs to promote interest and build a pipeline of student participation.
  • Build connections with middle school students to encourage early engagement in robotics and STEM.
  • Foster a team culture rooted in collaboration, creativity, respect, and the school's mission.
  • Support students in balancing academic and extracurricular responsibilities to ensure strong performance in both.
  • Maintain relationships with robotics organizations and competition networks to ensure opportunities for student growth.
