The Leonardo DRS Land Systems business is a recognized leader in the design and integration of complex technologies into new and legacy systems and platforms for global military and commercial customers. We are a 6 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area.  

Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking multiple Summer Systems Engineer Interns for our Bridgeton, MO facility.  These interns will help our systems engineering (SE) team meet the technical performance requirements on complex system development programs and to execute an interdisciplinary process to ensure that the customer and stakeholder needs and requirements are satisfied in a high quality, trustworthy, cost efficient, and schedule compliant manner.  The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful professional hands-on experience to students with proven academic performance and leadership potential.  Students will also get to utilize our companies flexible work schedule.  

Job Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of the SE managers, SE technical director, and lead systems engineers on various systems engineering activities
  • May use Matlab and/or Simulink software in the performance of assignments
  • Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Gather and assemble data for engineers
  • May be required to help perform research in a particular field
  • Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers
  • Assist engineers with appropriate design details
  • Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED, and currently a Junior or above in a Bachelor's program in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, written and oral
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge and familiarity with the use of Matlab and/or Simulink, deesired
  • Coursework in some of the following subjects: calculus I/II, linear algebra, complex variables, probability & statistics, and differential equations, desired
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, desired

The salary range for this position is $41,011.00/year- $53,315.00/year for the state of Illinois. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
