Job description

How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Delta Air Lines is seeking interns to join our Network Scheduling team for Summer 2027.

As a Network Scheduling Intern, you would be responsible for:

  • Coordination of the design and development of Delta's flight schedule by aligning aircraft to demand, while analyzing operational and aircraft constraints

  • Ensuring the final schedule meets all maintenance, slot, curfew, and special performance requirements

  • Implementing holiday and day-of-week adjustments

  • Managing charter flying and understanding the impact on the Network

  • Reviewing proposed schedule with operational stakeholders, making changes as required

  • Fine tuning schedule to ensure operational reliability

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a 4-year academic institution.

  • At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale.

  • Must be available to work on a full-time basis for Summer 2027 semester (May-August).

  • Student cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op/Intern at the same time, which may delay graduation by 1-2 semesters.

  • Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the internship.

  • Working as a Co-op/Intern does not guarantee a full-time opportunity at Delta Air Lines upon graduation. This position is intended to provide educational and professional work experience to prepare the student for the workforce.

  • Ideal candidates will know three letter airport codes and will understand basic airline economics.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to work on multiple assignments with strict deadlines and function effectively under pressure.

  • Must be team oriented.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to produce concise, relevant, strategic documents and executive presentations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Preferred majors in Business, Economics, Engineering, Aviation Management, or similar analytical related field of study.

  • Previous operational or airline experience is an advantage, but not required.
