Assist teachers in preparing for classes, assist during classes, and keep our studio and materials clean, neat, and organized!

Timeline:
What You'll Do:
As a Teacher Assistant, you'll be the Lead Teacher's right hand, helping classes run smoothly from start to finish. You will:
  • Help kids with their art projects (and cheer them on!)
  • Prepare materials ahead of class and activities
  • Hand out supplies and help keep materials organized
  • Support with classroom management so everyone is safe and having fun
  • Assist with set-up before class and clean-up after class
  • Lead peers in keeping our studio neat, organized, and clean

What is Required In This Role
  • MUST be age 18 years or older
  • Must have at least 3 days of weekday availability:
    • 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
    • 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Must be willing to work weekends; morning and/or evening shifts, including some Sundays
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle:
    • Classes are held at various locations outside of our studio. Rideshares such as Lyft/Uber, and public transportation are not reliable means of transportation for our classes and studio operations.
  • Comfortable working with kids ages 18 months-12 years
  • Ability to work independently
  • No formal art training required - just a positive attitude and a willingness to jump in and help

Mission Critical Stuff:
  • Have excellent reading comprehension skills
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills; working well with others
  • Proactive is your middle name! (not literally), but the ideal candidate must be able to carry on tasks with little direction (obviously, there is a learning curve in the beginning!)
  • Can maintain a neat and organized work area
  • Don't mind cleaning up after others. Much of your time on this job is spent cleaning up messes. Applicant should be willing and able to clean up after the fun is over!
  • Frequently lift and carry boxes that weigh up to 25 lbs
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism; take the position seriously, even if seasonal or temporary.
  • Must be an enthusiastic and reliable individual---no wallflowers here!
  • During the school year: must be available at least two afternoons per week, and some evenings and weekends.
  • During the summer: must be available at least four mornings per week, and some evenings and weekends.
