SUMMER CAMP 2026 - Camp Programs & Events Staff
Mid-May through Early August
Girl Scouts of Western Ohio is seeking individuals to work with us, running our summer camps for the 2026 season!
This team will travel throughout Girl Scouts of Western Ohio to facilitate outdoor programming. Locations include Camp Libbey, Camp Woodhaven, Camp Rolling Hills, and Camp Whip Poor Will.
Our summer camp season begins in Mid-May and runs through early August, and we provide a full training and onboarding program for all staff in preparation to effectively lead and participate in summer programming with our girls!
Our ideal candidates must love the outdoors, have experience working with kids, demonstrate excellent customer service and can work within a team environment. Working at camp can be a fun life changing experience but it is also a great place to build a variety of skills that future employers are looking for. Skills you'll develop at camp this summer include conflict resolution, interpersonal skills, creativity and problem solving, management skills, time management and prioritization, plus valuable experience working directly with children.
What you'll do:
As staff, you'll spend your summer traveling to various locations to facilitator programming. This team will run day camp, troop adventure camp, and weekend programs. You'll help girls choose their own adventures while participating in hiking, swimming, outdoor living skills, building teamwork, archery, nature activities, crafts, or working on badge activities.
Open Positions with the Camp Programs & Events Team
Camp Programs & Events Director (1) $95/day - Responsible for the health and safety of campers and staff by providing first aid and administering medications as directed by the camp health care plan. Applicants must be able to live on-site, be 21 years of age or older, and have a valid Driver's License. Applicants must be a current registered nurse, or Emergency Medical Technician.
Program Coordinator (1) $90/day - Supervises and supports program specialists and schedules programming for units across camp. Ensures programming follows industry standards, ACA accreditation guidelines and Safety Activity Checkpoints. Adventure Challenge Education and Archery Training are provided. Applicants must be able to live on-site, be 21 years of age or older, and have a valid Driver's License.
Camp Counselors (6) - $75/day- Provides quality camp experience through the planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out of activities and guiding campers in their personal growth. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Counselor/Lifeguard (3) - $80/day - Guards the pool during camp programming. Lifeguard training and small craft safety training is provided. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Our Camp Programs & Event staff positions are full-time throughout camp season. The days of work are primarily Sunday through Friday. Staff are expected to stay overnight throughout the summer. Staff receive a two-hour break Monday-Thursday. Staff will have housing and food provided during working hours. Staff will be expected to work a few Saturdays during the summer. Staff will receive 24 hours off once a week.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
  • Experience in youth programming.
  • Must enjoy and be comfortable with working outdoors with youth.
  • For roles that require onsite living - must be comfortable with and able to live onsite 24/7 during camp season.
