ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHY INTERNSHIP

The Photography Intern will play a key role as part of our Marketing Team, and will be reporting directly to our Marketing Coordinator. They will be responsible for capturing and collecting content onsite at our summer camps that showcase our kids, staff, special events, and camp activities. Our Photography Interns must be expert storytellers! They will be able to capture moments that demonstrate what our kids are participating in to share with our communities and families. Our Photography Interns will be collaborating with a team of Photography and Marketing Interns to share, edit, and create materials across summer camp locations.

  • Summer Internship Dates: June 24th - August 30th (10 weeks)

  • Compensation: $200-$350 per week depending on previous experience and weekly hourly commitment.

Position Responsibilities: There are two different core functions for our photography interns. The specifics of each role are listed below.

Onsite Camp Photography Intern: The Onsite Camp Photography Intern is responsible for attending
summer camp onsite. They will be required to travel between 1-3 of our summer camp locations
within a specific region.

  • At Camp, they will capture content from swim sessions, field trips, special events, and everyday activities, and share content with our Marketing Team.

  • Have an understanding of the types of photos we are looking for, and why we want that type of content.

  • Edit photos to ensure the highest quality of content.

  • Upload and sort photos on our photography platform: Waldo.

  • Collaborate with camp staff and members from the Marketing department to ensure content is captured and uploaded in a timely manner.

  • Having your own DSLR camera is preferred. Quality phone cameras are also okay.

  • Portfolio required.

Waldo Photography Intern: The Waldo Photography Intern is responsible for managing our
photography platform, Waldo, and collaborating with our Onsite Photography Interns for content.
This intern will be based out of our office location, but may be required to travel to camp locations on
occasion too.

  • Collaborate with photographers to make sure quality photos are taken and submitted in a timely manner.

  • Sort, tag, and approve photos to be shared with our families.

  • Edit photos when necessary.

  • Capture content in the field (some travel necessary).

  • Help to budget and manage our Waldo plan, and ensure we don't go over our photo finder budget.

  • Connect with and support families and staff in operating and accessing the Waldo platform.

  • Connect with our Waldo representative when we have questions and support needs.

  • The Photography Intern must be able to work within a team environment and independently. They must have an entrepreneurial spirit and will be called upon to assist in solving problems for our families and go above and beyond to promote safety, fun, and a family spirit.

  • The Photography Intern is expected to communicate quickly and efficiently with their direct manager and other leadership team members. Use of organization-wide communication channels and policies are required (Slack, GSuite, Asana, others as assigned). 

  • As part of our Summer Intern Cohort, all interns will have the opportunity to connect with other interns across the organization for networking opportunities. They will participate in a series of intern cohort discussions, training sessions, and professional development opportunities throughout the summer camp season. Interns will also have the opportunity to showcase their internship experience in an end of internship project presentation.
