As Lead Physical Performance Coach your work is critical to supporting the maximization of our players physical performance and availability by leading strength & conditioning pathways, implementing individual athletic development plans, and supporting return to basketball and performance science strategies. Working with a multi-disciplinary staff, you will create, participate, and support processes and systems that encourages physical performance & development, and challenges player potential. What You Will Do:
  • Lead the strength and conditioning session scheduling, periodization and programming with the recording/documentation of all player's strength and conditioning programs in the team's database
  • Prepare players for training, practices, and games with on-court warm-ups
  • Lead the development of both team and individual player KPIs and manage the setting, monitoring, and evaluation of each player's KPIs
  • Collaborate with medical staff to integrate rehabilitation and injury risk mitigation strategies into performance programming
  • Assist in the implementation of player nutrition strategies and hydration on game day
  • Contribute to the rehabilitation of injured athletes with development & delivery of strength, conditioning, movement protocols/assessments, and load progressions for Return to Training, Return to Basketball and Return to Performance - with input from Phoenix Suns' Director of Performance and Lead Physical Therapist
  • Support the management of Phoenix Suns' 2-way and other assigned players by empowered execution of player performance programs and consistent communication with Phoenix Suns' Performance Staff around the player program, performance, workloads, and wellness
  • Lead the implementation and oversight of physical performance testing and athlete monitoring system, and provide input on performance optimization in collaboration with Phoenix Suns' Director of Performance
  • Support for the design and dissemination of the daily schedule for Valley Suns Human Performance Team (and players)
  • Assist Phoenix Suns Human Performance Staff with physical performance and Human Performance team logistics during Summer League, Open Gym, Training Camp, Draft Workouts, Free Agency medicals and selected practice sessions during season
  • Serve as Lead Physical Performance Coach for the Phoenix Suns' Summer League team during training camp and Summer League - in collaboration with Phoenix Suns' Performance Staff

Minimum Experience and Qualifications Requirements to Apply
  • CSCS
  • 3 years' experience working as a performance coach
  • Professional or college sports experience
