Summary

Oncor Electric Delivery has internship opportunities available to students currently pursuing an Associate’s degree or higher in Business, Data Analytics, or other related fields. The goal of this internship program is to develop skills in data storytelling, process automation, and insights generation to support Oncor business use cases. We are looking for candidates who are skilled in Python, SQL, Tableau or other data visualization tool, and Microsoft Office applications, and are eager to learn about utility business and data-driven decision-making. Successful candidates should be self-starters, adaptable, detail-oriented, highly motivated, problem-solvers, and strong team players.

Directly or through collaboration, the Data & Analytics Intern will:

  • Develop dashboards to visualize business progress, risks, and resource performance, helping stakeholders make data-driven decisions.
  • Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate business data.
  • Build and maintain Python scripts that automate recurring reporting tasks, freeing teams from manual workflows.
  • Automate notifications and reporting pipelines to improve efficiency and ensure timely communication across projects.
  • Document and standardize workflows and data pipelines for scalability and repeatability.
  • Collaborate with developer managers, project managers, engineers, and analysts to translate business questions into measurable metrics and insights.
  • Interact effectively, and in a proactive manner, with Business and Technology partners to support integrated business strategies and processes.
  • Test and refine analytics tools and automation scripts, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy standards, ensuring insights are reliable for decision-making.
  • Stay current with best practices and emerging tools in analytics, automation, and visualization.
  • Participate in team workshops, process reviews, and project meetings, presenting insights and dashboards to stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the data & analytics team and participate in special projects, as requested.

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Pursuing Associate’s degree or higher in Business, Data Analytics, or other related field preferred.
    • Completed at least 30 hours towards degree preferred.
    • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Relevant internship experience preferred.
  • Python, Tableau or other data visualization tool, and SQL experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
