Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a curious, detail-oriented External Communications Specialist to help shape and tell the stories behind the places where people love to be together.
This role produces communications content across paid, owned, earned and social media channels, helping elevate the firm’s voice across sports, entertainment, culture and design. You will work across teams to transform complex ideas and projects into compelling content that strengthens Populous’ reputation and visibility.
Our preferred candidate is a strong writer and collaborative communications planner with sharp storytelling instincts. Top candidates are energized by branded content, emerging media trends and the opportunity to grow and build within a fast-moving communications team.
What Your Day Could Consist Of:
  • Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of Populous’ communications and business priorities to support brand- and project-level external communications across multiple channels.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to elevate projects, people and ideas through communications content and storytelling.
  • Writing and editing copy for a wide range of communications materials including website content, social media posts, advertising, newsletters, news releases, scripts and email campaigns.
  • Collaborating with architects, marketing and communications leaders to gather insights, identify story opportunities and translate complex ideas into external communications plans and assets.
  • Assisting in maintaining content calendars and coordinating distribution of communications across all channels.
  • Tracking performance of communications to help translate data into insights that inform future storytelling and campaigns.
  • Providing communications project coordination support, including scheduling meetings, capturing action items and maintaining organized records.
Requirements For Success:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in AP Style.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt to changing priorities when necessary.
