Build and fly rockets, demonstrate lasers, explore the states of matter using dry ice, and help children create slime and other polymers. You will inspire the next generation of scientists through our innovative activities that show kids what science is really about.

Job Summary
  • As a Mad Scientist, you will lead students through an inquiry-based discovery method involving instructor demonstrations, hands-on activities, and amazing take-home projects that will illustrate how science affects the world around us. Mad Science is the world's leading provider of fun science programs for elementary-aged children. Instructors can also qualify for additional hours at our office between assignments.

Responsibilities can include
  • Facilitating 60 minute hands-on science enrichment programs for up to 20 children using a predefined, easy-to-understand curriculum.
  • 30 minute hands-on preschool science programs at local schools and daycare centers.
  • Repeating 15 minute sets of demonstration or hands-on activities for groups in a rotation

Qualifications
  • Fun and outgoing personality!
  • Experience working with children in a structured environment (e.g. classroom, preschool, summer camps)
  • A reliable car
  • Availability for assignments at least 5 days per week 8:30 to 5, occasional weekends
  • Completes background check

Some of our Instructors work with us just a single summer, but others have stayed on as part time Mad Scientists additional summers!
This is a remote position.
Compensation: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
