Description:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

  • Fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures and implement the mission of summer camps. Build and lead a culture of creativity, safety and positivity within the summer staff while running programs and programmed activities.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and encourage cabin leaders / other staff
  • Complete the course of study during orientation and follow all camp policies
  • Become familiar with the camp and grounds
  • Keep spiritually and physically prepared to minister

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and model a vital personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • To equip and support cabin leaders, adventure, staff and band members in their roles
  • Hold summer staff accountable for their actions
  • To implement summer programs and fulfill all responsibilities of program staff
  • Assist with behavior management and nighttime rounds
  • Plan and lead assigned activities
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Speak in chapels or at campfires
  • Interact with parents as required
  • Assist with accommodations: cleaning showers, bathrooms, and buildings to meet standards of excellence
  • Host Meals: set-up, manage, and communicate to campers, families, and groups
  • Support Community Worship as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The information above represents the overall expectation of the entire Summer Leadership Staff team. That team consists of 5 different positions. Those positions are as follows:

  • Program Lead: Upfront, outgoing personality. Responsible to plan, prepare, and lead the summer camp schedule. Silly songs, skits, running games, icebreakers, etc...
  • Head Cabin Leader: Ideally an experienced cabin leader who is relationally focused and is excited to assist and support cabin leaders with behavior management, cabin coverage, etc...
  • Worship Lead: Responsible to lead the worship team in creating dynamic worship experiences for our summer camp programs at the Grace Adventures and Paradise Ranch campuses.
  • Adventure Lead: Responsible for leading and supporting the adventure staff team in delivering the summer camp program with excellence.
  • High School Lead: Responsible for the leadership and implementation of the high school service week program on the Grace Adventures campus.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have a personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Knowledge of and love for Godโ€™s Word
  • Love for kids and adults and ability to communicate with them
  • Leadership ability and experience
  • At least 2 years as cabin leader, adventure staff, or equivalent work with children or in a leadership role.
  • Good health and stamina as required to implement a summer camp program. This will involve long hours and lifting at times. Ability to work in various weather climates and conditions.
  • Minimum age 21 preferred
  • Education required: High School Degree or equivalent
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License
