Field Inspector – Production Agriculture (Seasonal Summer Role)

Looking for a hands-on, outdoor summer role that builds real-world experience? This Field Inspector position offers the chance to work directly in agriculture, gain valuable field data experience, and get paid while working outside all summer long.

This is a 100% outdoor, seasonal position where you’ll play a key role in ensuring crop quality and supporting seed production efforts.


What You’ll Do
  • Conduct daily field inspections across assigned corn fields
  • Monitor crop development, plant health, and overall field conditions
  • Count silks, tassels, and identify off-type plants to maintain quality standards
  • Evaluate and rate field quality, flagging any issues that could impact production
  • Document pests, environmental conditions, and potential field hazards
  • Record plant traits such as color, leaf count, and growth patterns
  • Enter accurate data daily using mobile field software
  • Communicate updates and concerns with field leadership
  • Independently manage routes, schedules, and field visits

What You Bring
  • Ability and willingness to work fully outdoors in summer conditions (heat, pollen, insects, dust)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when counting and recording data
