Description
New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing is committed to the development of the next generation of nurse scientists and is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Associate role for Summer 2026. This position is initially awarded as a one-year appointment, but renewable annually based on performance. The position involves postdoctoral work in developing efficient methods and tools for analyzing large-scale biomedical data with complex designs, and conducting big data analyses using advanced statistical models. Experience in the use of various datasets, e.g., TOPMed, UK Biobank, All of Us, and/or digital health data, is also desirable. The postdoctoral associate will engage in developing and implementing methods and tools, conducting and running analysis, reporting the study results, publishing, presenting, and grant-writing, in addition to advancing their own area of research. The postdoctoral associate will be under the mentorship and direction of Dr. Han Chen and receive professional development and academic networking opportunities. The position is available immediately and will be open until filled.
Position Details:
Approximate Start and End Dates: This is a full-time, fixed-term position expected to run from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, subject to continuation and possible extension based on the availability of continued grant funding and performance.
Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed-term, grant-funded position.
Expected Work Hours: 35 hours per week; The role follows a Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. schedule with some flexibility.
Location: Hybrid. The position requires at least three days of in-person work per week, including field-based research activities and College-designated common in-person days.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500-$65,000 (based on years of relevant postgraduate experience, both at NYU and elsewhere). New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Qualifications
1. Dissertation completed in the last 3 years. If you have not yet completed your dissertation at the time of application, please provide verification in writing from your dissertation chair confirming you will complete it before Sep 1st, 2026. 2. Earned PhD or equivalent in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, bioinformatics, computational biology, nursing, or other health-related fields.
3. Qualified candidates must be eligible to work in the US at the time of hire and for the duration of this appointment. Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
4. As part of its selection process, our selection committee looks for evidence of a strong track record of scholarly achievement (publications, honors, awards), and grant writing experience, and promise of continuing achievement towards independence as a researcher.
