Overview
In The Zone Child Care Services is seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and energetic Summer Camp Bus Driver to transport children to and from field trips, activities, and program locations throughout the summer. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children, maintain a positive and professional attitude, and demonstrate strong knowledge of traffic safety and transportation procedures.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Safely transport children and staff according to scheduled routes and field trips
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip bus inspections
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of children during transportation
  • Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures
  • Monitor weather and traffic conditions to maintain safe travel
  • Report delays, accidents, emergencies, or maintenance concerns promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus
  • Assist children during loading, unloading, and emergency situations if needed
  • Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and supervisors

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Air Brake Certification required
  • Clean driving record required
  • Minimum of 2 years of driving experience
  • No accident reports within the last 5 years
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the last 36 months
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to pass MSDH Background Check
  • CPR/First Aid knowledge preferred
  • Strong communication, reliability, and punctuality required
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to participate in active summer camp environments and assist children as needed
