Pre- Co-op for high school machining students
Penn United Technologies, Inc. is now accepting applications from qualified high school vocational-technical students in a machining related program for summer employment in our Tooling Division. This opportunity is ideal for students who are eager to gain hands-on industry experience while enhancing the machining skills and knowledge developed in the classroom. This summer position offers valuable real-world exposure to manufacturing processes and workplace practices in a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with more experienced team members and participate in training provided to improve skills and knowledge in assigned area.
  • Report to work on-time with a positive attitude, follow the instructions of your team leader, and be ready to learn and accomplish tasks.
  • Have a true desire and a focus toward your job.
  • Gain a better understanding of the knowledge and skills necessary for a Machinist.
  • Perform well by meeting supervision expectations on the shop floor.
  • Ask relevant questions and ask for help with processes or tasks not understood. Communicate with your trainer. Be open and honest in communications.
  • Implement and follow all safety and quality plans in accordance with company programs and policies.

Qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled in a high school vocational technical school in a Machine Technology related program.
  • Must be in good academic standing at their school.
  • Excellent math & mechanical skills/aptitude; and the ability & desire to do precision work is required.
  • Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, precision measurement tools, and machining is expected.
  • If under the age of 18, must have a work permit
