Pay Rate: $25/HR Location: 29160 INTERVET LANE, Millsboro, DE 19966

Qualifications

Environmental Working Conditions • Indoor/Outdoor work which includes varying temperatures, entering coolers and freezers • Majority of time is spent standing, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting • Required to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis • Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required per Safety Policy | Examples of required PPE are: safety glasses, safety shoes, LN gear, face shield, apron, gloves

Education • Required | High School Diploma or equivalent with three years laboratory experience • Preferred | Bachelor's degree in science discipline

Experience | Skills | Knowledge Required • Experience with analytical instrumentation | Microscopic analysis and biological assays • Aseptic Technique, Good Lab Practices (GLP) • Proven analytical aptitude and critical thinking skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills: • SAP experience/knowledge • LIMS for EM

Additional: A rabies titer and vaccination will be required post-offer once the worker begins their assignment and will be performed onsite.

Responsibilities

The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting advanced laboratory procedures independently under leadership of area lead and department manager for the testing of veterinary biologicals according to strict government and company-imposed guidelines while working with a variety of technical equipment while completing Quality Testing. At all times technicians must follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhere to all safety and company policies, perform duties assigned by department management. A Quality Control Laboratory Technician must possess thorough knowledge of the underlying principles used in testing procedures and understand the material being evaluated, i.e. virus, bacteria, cell line, etc.

Key Functions: • Demonstrates, at all times, safe work habits and maintains a safe work environment • Perform various laboratory based testing using aseptic technique in accordance with regulations and guidelines • Understands and complies with all safety and company policies and procedures • Maintain and evaluate the sequential analysis of the testing standards used in the area of the assignment • Responsible for the entry of test results in the QC tracking system and the cross-check of records • Clean work areas including floors, walls, tables, etc. • Equipment set-up and operations • Concurrent record keeping including charts, log books, and all pertinent documentation • Report all unusual, non-routing occurrences when performing tasks • Perform more advanced mathematical calculations, conversions and formulations • Technicians may be responsible for accumulation, labeling and management of hazardous, universal and/or infectious wastes
