What is a summer mindset coach?

A Summer Mindset Coach is a professional who helps individuals, often students or young adults, develop a positive and productive mindset during the summer months. They provide guidance on setting and achieving personal goals, maintaining motivation, and building healthy habits outside of the traditional academic year. Through one-on-one sessions or group workshops, these coaches support clients in overcoming challenges, boosting self-confidence, and making the most of their summer break. Their work often focuses on personal growth, emotional resilience, and preparation for the upcoming school year or life transitions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a summer mindset coach?

To thrive as a Summer Mindset Coach, you need a solid background in coaching, psychology, or education, often supported by relevant certifications or coaching credentials. Familiarity with goal-setting frameworks, coaching platforms, and digital communication tools is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, motivational ability, and empathy help you connect with clients and foster positive mindset changes. These skills are essential to effectively support individuals during summer transitions, helping them set and achieve personal and academic goals.

What are some common challenges faced by summer mindset coaches, and how can they be addressed?

Job description

OUR MISSION

Movement School is a growing network of free, public charter schools.  We exist to love and value scholars and communities by leading a movement of excellence in education. In partnership with our families, we equip our scholars with the tools to close generational gaps through self-efficacy, access to world-class instruction, and financial education.

About This Role
Teach With Purpose. Grow With Support. Make an Impact.

At Movement Schools, we believe every scholar deserves an excellent education in a joyful, structured, and supportive environment. As a growing network of free, public charter schools, our mission is to love and value scholars and communities by leading a movement of excellence in education.

As a Movement Educator, you’ll do more than teach—you’ll help scholars grow academically, build confidence, and develop character. You’ll be supported by a collaborative team, meaningful coaching, and a shared commitment to helping every child succeed.

If you believe in the potential of all scholars and want to grow alongside a passionate, mission-driven team, we’d love to meet you.

What You Will Do

Lead a joyful, rigorous classroom where every scholar is seen, challenged, and supported to grow.

As a Movement educator, you will help ensure scholar success daily by:

  • Showing up prepared, positive, and committed to every scholar

  • Making learning engaging, rigorous, and accessible for each scholar

  • Encouraging academic growth while nurturing confidence and character

  • Partnering with families and teammates to support the whole child

  • Reflecting on practice and growing through coaching and feedback

  • Collaborating with colleagues and participating in staff meetings and professional development

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a teacher who brings both high expectations and heart — someone who is committed to scholar success and continuous growth.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Believe all scholars can achieve at high levels and are committed to their success

  • Are coachable, reflective, and open to feedback

  • Bring strong classroom presence, organization, and communication skills

  • Enjoy collaborating with teammates and school leadership

  • Are passionate about creating a positive, structured, and inclusive environment

Successful Movement Educators bring both heart and skill to their work. You’ll excel in this role if you demonstrate:

  • Clear, confident communication and the ability to build strong relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues

  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills that create a structured, joyful learning environment

  • The ability to motivate, engage, and inspire scholars with diverse learning needs

  • Patience, flexibility, and a solution-oriented mindset in a fast-paced school setting

  • A growth mindset and a deep commitment to continuous improvement and scholar success

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field

  • Valid teaching certification in the appropriate grade band (e.g., Elementary K–5) or subject area, or eligibility for certification in the state of employment.

  • Commitment to Movement Schools’ mission and values

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in a K–5 classroom

  • Familiarity with data-driven instruction and standards-based planning

  • Experience in a charter or mission-driven school environment

Why You’ll Love Working at Movement

Join a supportive community where you’ll grow as a leader, collaborate with passionate teammates, and support scholars’ success every day.

  • Be part of a mission-driven school community making a real impact

  • Receive meaningful coaching and professional development

  • Collaborate with passionate, supportive teammates

  • Grow your career within a charter school network

  • Support scholars in ways that go beyond academics

Compensation & Schedule

This full-time role aligns with the academic calendar and provides meaningful growth in a purpose-driven environment.

  • Starting Salary: $56,146 (salary placement based on experience)

  • Employment Type: Full-Time

  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package available for eligible employees

  • Schedule: Follows the academic calendar with pre-scheduled summer responsibilities for planning and preparation

  • Additional Commitments: Occasional evenings or weekends for family engagement and school events

Our Commitment

We’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming community for all.
Movement Schools is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming community. We encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply.

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of required background checks.

Ready  to Lead with Purpose?

If you’re excited about teaching with purpose, growing as an educator, and making a lasting difference in the lives of scholars, we’d love for you to apply.
