Position Overview:
The Broadcast Studio Student Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of Chatham University's Broadcast Studio by assisting students, faculty, and staff with the rental and use of film, television, and production equipment. This role is ideal for students who are organized, reliable, and interested in gaining hands-on experience in a professional studio environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the check-in and check-out process for broadcast equipment through the use of our rental software.
  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, and staff using the studio and equipment.
  • Help track, document, and coordinate repairs for damaged or malfunctioning equipment
  • Maintain studio cleanliness and organization, ensuring the space is ready for use for classes and student projects.
  • Enforce studio policies and procedures.
  • Conduct inventory and assist with general upkeep of equipment.
  • Perform light administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or equivalent).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work well with peers, faculty, and staff.
  • Interest in film, television, or technology is helpful, but not required.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when necessary.

What You'll Gain:

All current student employees should notify their other manager(s) if you work multiple jobs on campus at the same time. Additionally, students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year. Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.
Student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.
