WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Sr. Software Engineer should possess a solid understanding of programming languages and development environments and know how to apply them within the scope of medical device development. This position involves analyzing and evaluating current software products and making recommendations for improvements and strategies to mitigate risks by taking into working within the developed life cycle processes.
Create software solutions using prior experience while staying informed about new technologies relevant to medical device development and testing. Work with software architecture and the software team to recommend development environments that support efficient and potentially automated build and test processes. Analyze existing software to identify root causes of issues and propose solutions.
YOUR ROLE
  • Work with the software team along with systems, quality, and regulatory to develop software for updating existing systems and new product development.
  • Suggest improvements for development environments that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of software development and unit testing.
  • Investigate issues to clearly identify root cause and provide solutions to be reviewed by CCB
  • Follow established coding styles to provide a more homogeneous code base that can be easily understood by all developers.
  • Conduct and participate in code reviews and ensure quality procedures are followed.
  • Support quality, regulatory and production groups to ensure proper software releases are being validated and moved to production
  • Collaborating with quality, regulator and production groups to develop releasable software
  • Participate and/or lead software FMEAs
  • Update software engineering work instructions as needed
  • Applying experience and lessons learned to develop reliable quality software.
  • Identify and debug software anomalies using SOP to document root cause and suggest or develop resolutions.
  • Participate in product meetings to provide a clear understanding of requirements and their traceability through design, verification, and validation to all attending parties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

YOUR BACKGROUND
  • Minimum is a bachelor's degree in software or computer engineering, required.
  • Minimum of 4 years' embedded software development experience within electromechanical device control industry, preferrred.
  • Work within the established development environment and provide suggestions for improvements.
  • Obtain an understanding of the quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Self-starter and capable of working with minimal supervision. Ability to multi-task across multiple projects.
  • Strong computer skills, and knowledge of desktop publishing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suites)
  • Working knowledge of Synergy SLM software preferred
  • Working knowledge of Agile PLM software preferred
  • Working knowledge of Jama software preferred
  • Must be computer literate, including being comfortable and capable of using software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to expand and increase these competencies.
