Job Description:
SUMMARY
Serves as aTrio Summer Academy Foreign Language instructor for high school students (9thgrade-12th grade) in the Trio Summer Academy. This is a six-weekinstructional assignment (June - July) with planning meetings commencing inJune. Theinstructor will work approximately 12-15 hours per week, between 1:00 pm and3:30 pm, Monday - Thursday.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
  • Teaches a foreign language to high school students (9th grade-12th grade)
  • Provides classroom supervision
  • Monitors and keeps daily log of student attendance, behavior, and academic development
  • Assists in the development of daily lesson plans and formative & summative assessments
  • Develops and maintains class syllabi and grade reports
  • Provides a comprehensive written summary on each class taught
  • Develops engaging and hands-on lessons to facilitate teaching and learning

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Bachelor's degree in a Foreign Language
  • Experience teaching Foreign Language to high school and/or college students
  • Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds
