Job Title: High School Athletics - HS Boys Soccer Head Coach
Position type: Seasonal / Stipend ($2,100)
Reports to: Athletic Director
Sportsmanship and Conduct
  • Model good sportsmanship and respect for all student-athletes, officials, coaches, and parents
  • Report results of every contest to Athletic Director
  • Read and adhere to all items in the 'Coaches Handbook'
  • Encourage students to balance academics with athletics
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, create Emergency Action Plan
  • Maintain updated rosters
  • Become familiar with NFHS rulebooks and AIA bylaws
  • Monitor student eligibility and communicate with Athletic Director

Scheduling
  • Coordinate with Athletic Director in preparing practice and game schedules during the preseason
  • Notify Athletic Director and Reception in advance when students will need to be dismissed from classes for athletic events
  • Take attendance before team departures and give roster to Reception
  • Communicate with parents and students for cancellations or rescheduled events
  • Reserve facilities through the Athletic Director for practices and games
  • Communicate transportation needs for events out of town
  • Coordinate with Athletic Director for Summer camps or offseason workouts

Equipment, Uniforms, Finances
  • Distribute, collect, and keep inventory of uniforms and equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment issued
  • Submit equipment needs for the next season to the Athletic Director
  • Return keys issued for school storage
  • Understand the programs financial responsibilities and budget
  • Encourage support for fundraising
  • Coordinate with Office Manager for donation tracking and receipts
  • Work with Athletic Director for approval of sponsorships and fundraising
  • Seek approval from Athletic Director for large purchases
  • Plan overnight trips and coordinate expenses and reimbursements through the Office Manager

Employment Requirements (must submit prior to first practice)
All Coaches:
  • Short resume specific to coaching
  • W - 9 Taxpayers Identification Number and Certification Form
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number (Filed through DPS website)
  • SafeSport Core Training Certification (90 minutes)

For Van Drivers:
  • Driver's License
  • Copy of Insurance
  • ADV 39 Month Driving History Record Motor Vehicle Record Request
