Job description

POSITION: Quality Assurance & Research Intern

LOCATION: RedBuilt LLC - Stayton Plant

Hourly Rate: $ 28.60


At RedBuilt, safety comes first—ALWAYS. We design and manufacture high-quality engineered wood products that support communities across the country. As we continue to grow, we are currently looking for a Quality Assurance & Research summer intern. This internship offers hands on experience in quality assurance, industry research, and process improvement. Interns will work directly with the QA Supervisor on real-world projects involving product testing, data analysis, and continuous improvement. The internship will culminate in a final project presented to plant leadership.

DUTIES:

  • Learn the manufacturing process and plant quality systems
  • Support research and continuous improvement projects related to product quality and process control
  • Assist in designing, conducting, and documenting technical research projects
  • Perform routine QA testing on raw materials and finished products
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and identify potential improvement opportunities
  • Gain experience with manufacturing standards and QA procedures
  • Complete and present an independent research or continuous improvement project at the end of the internship

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  1. Basic data analysis and computer skills (Excel required, database or Python experience is a plus)
  1. Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in a technical field
  1. Self-motivated, able to work independently on assigned tasks
  1. Math and statistics skills/understanding
  1. Reliable attendance and punctuality
  1. Physically able to manipulate heavy and/or awkward test material/equipment
  1. Familiarity with hand and power tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Pursuing a degree in Wood Science, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
  1. Previous work experience in a lab
  1. Project management experience
  1. Any experience in computer programming
