Job description

Sugar Bowl Resort is seeking a Resort Maintenance Summer Helper to join our team and support the day-to-day upkeep of the resort during our busy summer season. This is an entry-level, hands-on role - helping with grounds work, event setup, and general property upkeep alongside our Resort Maintenance technicians. The ideal candidate is reliable, a quick learner, and ready to pitch in wherever needed to keep the resort clean, safe, and welcoming.

Sugar Bowl Resort has been proudly independent for over 80 years and is one of the oldest ski resorts in California. Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski culture, Hollywood and Walt Disney. This special community helped bring skiing to "sunny California" since December 1939. Since then, it continues to attract adventurous winter sports enthusiasts a like.

Who You Are:

Follows instructions well and works safely alongside more experienced team members

Comfortable with a range of basic outdoor and grounds tasks

A team player who's eager to learn and pitch in wherever needed

Reports to work reliably and on time for all scheduled shifts

Comfortable working outdoors in warm summer conditions

What You'll do:

Assist Resort Maintenance technicians with grounds keeping, including mowing, weeding, and general landscaping

Help set up tables, chairs, and other equipment for special events

Move equipment, furniture, and other property around the resort as needed

Assist with basic painting, cleaning, and light demolition tasks under supervision

Keep walkways, grounds, and work areas clean and clear of debris

Support the Resort Maintenance team with other tasks as assigned

Bring a positive attitude to work every day, and help energize the team around you

Physical Requirements:

Lifts and carries up to 50 pounds

Climbs ladders comfortably, without fear of heights

Stands, walks, bends, and kneels for extended periods

Works outdoors in warm summer weather conditions for extended periods

Shovels and clears debris from walkways, entries, and work areas as needed

General agility and coordination for a range of hands-on tasks
