Job description

Job Title: Fabricator - Welder
Job Description

This role focuses on fabricating and MIG welding metal booths used in applications such as border control, toll collection, and valet services. The Fabricator - Welder reads and interprets prints to construct and assemble booths, working primarily with galvanized sheet metal and performing welds in a full range of positions.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble metal booths used for applications such as border control, toll booths, and valet stands.
  • Perform MIG welding on galvanized metal and sheet metal components to meet design and quality specifications.
  • Execute welds in all ranges of motion, including overhead, circular, and other required positions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and prints to determine dimensions, layout, and construction requirements for each booth.
  • Measure and mark materials accurately using a tape measure to ensure precise cuts, fits, and assemblies.
  • Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to verify structural integrity and adherence to specifications.
  • Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely while following established shop procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient fabrication and welding operations.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment, to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Work a first-shift schedule and support additional Saturday hours as needed to meet production demands.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience with MIG welding in a fabrication environment.
  • Proficiency in welding galvanized metal and sheet metal components.
  • Ability to weld in all ranges of motion, including overhead and circular positions.
  • Experience with metal fabrication processes related to constructing booths or similar structures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, prints, and fabrication drawings.
  • Strong measuring skills, including accurately reading and using a tape measure.
  • Capability to work safely and effectively in a shop environment with varying temperatures.
  • Attention to detail to ensure high-quality welds and precise fabrication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience fabricating structures such as booths, enclosures, or similar metal assemblies.
  • Comfort working with a variety of sheet metal thicknesses and configurations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and adjust welding techniques to achieve optimal results.
  • Willingness to work occasional Saturday hours to support production needs.
  • No formal welding certifications required.

Work Environment

Team members work on a first-shift schedule, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. as needed. The role involves working around fabrication equipment, welding tools, and sheet metal. Proper personal protective equipment, including safety helmets, gloves, and work boots, is required to ensure safety while performing daily tasks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
