Part-Time Regular Position
The City of Litchfield Park, AZ is seeking a part-time preschool aide to join our Community and Recreation Services Department and work year round with our dynamic Preschool team. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:
Incumbents are responsible for direct care of participants in the preschool and summer camp programs. Assists in the coordination and carrying out of day-to-day preschool or summer camp activities, depending on time of year.

Provides supervision of bathroom breaks and ensures safety of preschoolers or summer camp participants, depending on time of year.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education/ Knowledge High school diploma or GED. Knowledge of: Applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, regulations (based on assignment), Basic filing and record-keeping principles; Inventory maintenance principles. Experience Minimum one of experience in early childhood education preferred. Certifications and Other Requirements Valid Driver's License. Current and Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card. Utilize computer and relevant software applications, Modern office technology. First Aid and CPR Certification (within 90 days of hiring). Reading Work requires the ability to read and comprehend reference books and manuals. Math Work requires the ability to perform general math calculations and business math concepts. Writing Work requires the ability to create clear, accurate and comprehensive emails, documents, reports, recommendations and other correspondence. Managerial Job/position has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others. Policy/Decision Making Moderate - The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. There is some opportunity for discretion when making selections among a few easily identifiable choices. Work involving discretion is typically reviewed before finalized. Technical Skills Broad Application - Work requires a comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field with use of analytical judgment and decision-making abilities. Interpersonal/Human Relations Skills Moderate - Interactions involve support of Preschool Director and scheduled program activities. Contacts may also involve high paced interaction with preschool aged students, requiring high levels of tact and the ability to respond to student needs.
Overall Strength Demands:
Exerting 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PART-TIME PRESCHOOL AIDE
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of experience in early childhood education preferred.
  • Must have a current Fingerprint Clearance Card

WORK SCHEDULE
This is a year round part-time position (up to 19 hours per week). During the months of August through May, the preschool aide will assist with classroom duties and projects related to school year activities. During the months of June and July, the preschool aide will assist with summer camp activities.

Monday:7:45am - 11:15am
Tuesday:7:45am - 11:45am
Wednesday:7:45am - 11:15am
Thursday & Friday: 7:45am - 11:45am
Required Pre-Employment Screening: Reference Check, Drug Test, Background Check, and TB Skin Test
