Consultant – Construction & Real Estate (full-time, Hybrid role in New York, NY)

REQUIRED: Minimum 1 to 2 years of FIELD EXPERIENCE focused on construction management, project engineering, project delivery or related fields withing the construction industry

REQUIRED: Flexibility with the travel requirements of client engagements (up to 40% local travel to job sites in the field - greater NY area)

  • Location: New York, NY – LOCAL CANDIDATES PLEASE
  • Schedule: Full-time role; Monday through Friday HYBRID (60% in-office or remote; 40% out in the field at project sites in the greater NY area, mainly Manhattan & Queens)
  • Compensation: $65,000 to $92,000 base salary plus discretionary potential and competitive benefits

Summary:

Global professional services / advisory firm, working with corporations, government agencies, law firms, ETC. is seeking a full-time Consultant for the Construction & Real Estate team. In this full-time position the selected individual will be responsible for the execution of client engagements within the Construction and Real Estate industry as it relates to advisory, investigation, litigation and compliance matters. Consultant will add value to the team by having relevant experience & technical expertise within the Construction & Real Estate industry. This position requires local travel out to the field, superior organization, technical and communication (written & verbal) skills.

Responsibilities of Consultant - Construction & Real Estate:

  • Create and develop client deliverables and prepare findings, presenting to senior management, Partners and external stakeholders
  • Accountable for multiple priorities & projects, delivery of timely preparation and quality client deliverables while communicating project and task status to internal team members
  • Participate in business development initiatives; researching and identifying opportunities to assist in expanding existing client base
  • Assist with the proposal process for capital projects and construction related matters, including the preparation of budget estimates
  • Assist with engagement management administration, including billing and conflict checks as needed
  • Mentor Consultants and Interns

Qualifications for Consultant - Construction & Real Estate :

  • REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • REQUIRED: Minimum 1 to 2 years of FIELD EXPERIENCE focused on construction management, project engineering, project delivery or related fields withing the construction industry
  • REQUIRED: Flexibility with the travel requirements of client engagements (up to 40% local travel to job sites in the field - greater NY erea)
  • Demonstrated experience in construction delivery & management as an executional team member within a development, construction management, or general contracting company
  • Foundational experience in construction management, project engineering, and capital program and project management concepts
  • Understanding of construction and project processes including but not limited to, feasibility and planning, budgeting, design, forecasting, procurement, contracting, forecasting, change, risk, and schedule management
  • Overall knowledge of construction management methods, approaches, and generally accepted practices
  • Ability to apply industry expertise to complex matters and experience reviewing, analyzing and summarizing client documents and analyses
  • Demonstrated ability to perform technical projects, manage team and client expectations
  • Excellent technical (Excel/etc.), organizational & prioritization, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to provide exemplary client service
