Position Summary:

Schweitzer Ski Resort is seeking an experienced, professional, and guest-focused Banquet Bartender to support weddings, corporate events, meetings, and special occasions. This seasonal, part-time role is ideal for individuals who excel in fast-paced environments and take pride in providing exceptional beverage service while maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and hospitality standards. Must be 21 years or older to apply. This position will begin Mid-Late May and will continue through the summer season. Prior bartending experience required; banquet or high-volume experience preferred.

Schedule: Evenings, primarily Thursday through Saturday

Shift Length: 6-10 hours per event

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

  • Set up, stock, and break down banquet bars according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure all beverages are served in compliance with state and local alcohol regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate par levels of bar supplies, garnishes, and glassware during events.
  • Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to guests.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and practice responsible alcohol service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar and service areas throughout events.
  • Communicate effectively with banquet servers, captains, and management to ensure smooth event flow.
  • Assist with additional banquet service or breakdown duties as assigned.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly and engage in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Maintain a polished appearance in accordance with uniform and grooming standards.
  • Represent the resort positively and uphold hospitality standards at all times.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service policies.
  • Check identification and enforce alcohol service guidelines.
  • Report spills, hazards, or incidents immediately.
  • Maintain proper handling and storage of alcohol and bar equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific Job Skills:

License/Certifications- Idaho TIPS or ABC training (may acquire on the job), Food Handlers permit, AllerTrain allergy certification

Technical- Comfortable utilizing Micros Point of Sale Computer system

Physical Capabilities- Combined standing/walking position for up to 10 hours per shift. Required to lift over 25lbs frequently and over 50lbs occasionally

Additional- Strong communication skills, ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, reliable transportation required due to evening event schedules, indoor and occasional outdoor event environments.
