Job Description

Our Water Treatment division services a wide range of clients; water treatment systems, municipal and commercial swimming pools, industrial process and wastewater facilities, food manufacturers and the oil and gas industry. This is our fastest growing division, we look to continue to provide excellent support to our customers and expand our territory.

We have an opportunity for a sales-focused individual who is up for a challenge and likes to see their hard work pay off. This unique position combines sales, customer service, mechanical know-how and travel throughout the region. Our branch teams are small, efficient and flexible. Each member of our team must be a strong team contributor and help us meet our overreaching objectives of customer satisfaction, sales and safety. 

Responsibilities

Call on existing and new customers to maintain and grow business through selling, problem-solving and support.

Develop and grow territory within a regional market.

Establish productive, professional relationships with new and existing customers.

Efficiently and safely deliver products to customers.

Provide "Hands-on" service of Hawkins and customer's equipment which may include repair to chemical feed equipment and visually inspecting systems.

Prepare and present bids on new equipment and products.

Available to regularly work 10-12 hours per day as needed to service our customers. This will include occasional overnight travel. Hours of this job will vary and include extended hours as needed to ensure customer satisfaction, field support and to meet the needs of the branch. Our business peaks during summer and longer hours are the norm during that time.

Contribute to the overall effectiveness and responsibilities of the Team.


Qualifications

Technical experience such as equipment repair, maintenance.

Strong customer service orientation and selling abilities.

Experience in manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, customer service, sales, construction, quality control or safety.

Strong computer skills including ability to create accurate documents and use mobile devices for regular communication Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, and Outlook) and/or JD Edwards preferred.

Solid math/arithmetic skills to accurately perform calculations and conversions.

Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.

Quick learner who will soak up on-the-job training.

Strong problem solving decision making and prioritization skills.

Good phone, written, and verbal skills.

Takes initiative, sees what needs to be done and does it. Works well without constant supervision, positively contribute to the success of the team/branch and contributes in various areas as needed.

Ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License with Hazardous materials endorsement.

H.S. Diploma. (Technical school, Associate degree or college experience preferred).

Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written channels. Ability to read, understand and follow written documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 75lbs. 10-20 feet up to 10 times/day; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, frequently. 

Must be able to pull/push equipment and/or piping weighing up to 100 pounds into position for 1 -2 minutes up to 40 times a day.

Ability to safely operate a forklift.

Ability to sit and stand up to 12 hours per day.

Regularly climb stairs, sometimes while carrying heavy items.

Able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 50 feet, on occasion.

Ability to work in a warehouse facility where temperatures may range from 45 up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit; as well as work outside in all weather conditions; snow, rain, wind, and high humidity.

Able to perform manual dexterity tasks.

Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching.

Ability to follow and meet all safety standards and requirements.


Desired qualifications/experience:

Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement.

Experience handling chemicals or education - such as H.S. or College chemistry courses.

Manual and motorized forklift operation.
