Position Summary

The right Server uplifts the dining experience at Mt. Bachelor outlets. Servers should be professional, patient, and above all, have personality. Our goal is to ensure guest satisfaction and have fun doing it!

Major Responsibilities/ Daily Essential Functions

  • Ensure each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, greeting and acknowledging every guest, answering commonly asked questions, and moving the guest through the service process promptly.

  • Be familiar with all products, up-sell items, and give recommendations according to current promotions.

  • Accurately ring in all items and adhere to department standards and accounting practices.

  • Handle cash accurately and always keep Mt. Bachelor assets safe.

  • Have working knowledge of computers and the POS system.

  • Maintain a professional and personable appearance.

  • Consistently pre-bussing, bussing, expediting, and waiting tables to the outlet's standards.

  • Keep assigned areas and server stations clean, sanitized, and organized at all times.

  • Working knowledge of food and drink menus to include, but not limited to, ingredients info, potential allergens, sources, preparations, presentation, chef, or manager's vision of product, and more.

  • Responsible for claiming tips made each shift on a Tip Report. Also responsible for accurate paperwork at the end of each shift.

  • Accountable for maintaining accurate and appropriate inventories of server-monitored products and notifying the manager when items need to be ordered.

  • Establishes and maintains appropriate and effective working relationships with internal and external guests, as well as Mt. Bachelor employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Accountable for accurate time keeping. Responsible for clocking in and out with the employee pass.

  • Adheres to service standards set forth by OLCC, Mt Bachelor, and Deschutes County Health Department.

  • Complete any reasonable task assigned by the supervisor.

  • Observe mountain-wide policies found in the Employee Handbook.

Secondary Function

  • Bussing and restaurant clean up.

Job Scope

  • Position does not have any supervisory or decision-making responsibilities. Provide problem-solving assistance to less experienced staff.

Interpersonal Contacts

Constant interaction with guests, food & beverage staff members, and other Mt. Bachelor employees.

Specific Job Skills/Certifications

  • License/Certifications: OLCC and Oregon Food Handler's Card.

  • Technical: POS experience preferred. Basic computer skills required

  • Physical Capabilities: Carry food trays with multiple orders and drinks. Constant walking, lifting, and carrying.

  • Additional: Must have a positive attitude and a proactive approach to anticipating needs and getting things done. Flexible with hours and days of work. Able to work any hours of the day, any days of the week. Must have good communication skills, people skills, memory, and multi-tasking skills.

Education/Related Experience

  • Minimum education required: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum time in related position: 1+ years of serving experience in a high-volume outlet.
