JOB PURPOSE:

The Summer Student will support the Stores Department by assisting with inventory counts, stock control, warehouse organization, and general stores operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Stores team to ensure accurate inventory records and efficient warehouse operations while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform complete inventory and parts counts to ensure accurate stock records and inventory control.
  • Conduct routine stock checks and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
  • Work at both Midfield and South Hangar locations as operational requirements dictate.
  • Work independently once trained and assigned duties.
  • Assist warehouse staff with daily warehouse and stores activities.
  • Use email and inventory/database systems to record and update information.
  • Perform light lifting and material handling as required.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
  • Work an 8-hour shift, five days per week.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Currently enrolled in a secondary school, college, university, or post-secondary program.
  • Preference will be given to students pursuing studies in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Aviation, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to learn inventory management systems and databases.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous warehouse, inventory, retail, or customer service experience is considered an asset but is not required.
  • Ability to perform light lifting and standing/walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment.
  • Reliable transportation to travel between Midfield and South Hangar locations as required.
  • Must be available to work full-time during the summer period (40 hours per week).
