Production Operator

The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for producing products by packaging, transferring, blending and relabeling while maintaining full compliance with all applicable regulatory and safety laws/policies/procedures.  This includes the commitment to attain 100% customer satisfaction.

Schedule for this role is Monday-Thursday 1pm-9:30pm; Friday 11am-7:30pm.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Communicate compliance, safety, and equipment needs as personally identified to shift supervisor.
  • Use the PPE as specified in the SOP's.
  • Operate processes in accordance with SOP's
  • Comply with all safety and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Recommend changes in SOP's and process-related equipment while notifying shift supervisor of any deviations from the SOP's.
  • Accountable for accurate documentation of inventory, material usage, work orders, batch logs and move tickets.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and be responsible for cleanliness in assigned areas.
  • Be an active member of the emergency response team and associated training.
  • To adhere to the Cottage Grove general compliance standards.
  • To enter completed work orders in timely and accurately manner into the M3 computer system.
  • Become proficient in unloading railcars, spotting and loading/unloading bulk tankers, box trailers and filling containers according to established SOP's.
  • Fill and label products in approved packages in a manner that ensures all special packaging requirements are met.
  • Abide by all safety and regulatory requirements including following all SOP's and proper use of PPE and report any non-compliance. Promptly report spills to facility spill communication coordinator.
  • Report unsafe conditions to a supervisor immediately.
  • Communicate production status, problems and needs with other production operators (i.e. 'turnover' of daily information).

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Production Supervisor. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to operate a forklift; previous experience preferred.
  • Experience in production and warehouse operations.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
