Description:

Position Summary

The Center Standards Assistant/ SGA Advisor supports the Center Standards Officer in the overall course of action of the Centerโ€™s student conduct and incentive systems in compliance with the Job Corps Policy and Requirements Handbook (PRH) to promote positive student behavior and a safe learning environment. Ensures ongoing operation of the Student Store as applicable and the administration of the Student Government Association.


Essential Functions

  1. Assist and support the Center Standards Officer in the implementation of a comprehensive student incentive program to include a tiered system of rewards based on achievement of academic and career technical training (CTT) goals, demonstration of employability and career success skills, and service learning.
  2. Assist with the investigating, addressing, sanctioning, and documenting of student-incurred minor infractions.
  3. Assist in enforcing Job Corpsโ€™ Zero Tolerance Policy as outlined in the PRH and ensure all new students are thoroughly trained on the policy.
  4. Collaborate with the Academic and CTT departments to promote positive student attendance and address students with unexcused class absences and tardiness.
  5. Provide center standards support to students and staff in evenings and on weekends as needed.
  6. Maintain student disciplinary files in hard copy and in E-Folder in compliance with the PRH; provide additional clerical support for the department.
  7. Works with center Accounting to administer and process student fines.
  8. Function as the Student Government Association (SGA) Advisor; provide guidance in planning events, holding elections, making decisions, and representing students.
  9. Provide guidance to the SGA in the oversight of the student benefit fund to purchase items and services for the benefit of all students.
  10. Ensures ongoing operation of the Student Store/Canteen in collaboration with the SGA.
  11. Promote a harassment-free environment.
  12. Utilize information systems and handle student data in strict adherence to Job Corps and Strategixpolicies to protect studentโ€™s personally identifiable information (PII) and reduce network security threats.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience Minimum

High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with youth. High level of organization skills, attention to detail, and accuracy. Information technology proficiency including MS Office. Ability to use information systems to track data and interpret reports. Conflict resolution skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


Preferred

Associate degree in related field.
