Position Summary:
Working Dates: 6/15/26-8/21/26
Compensation:
Tonka Online Summer Teacher position is compensated at a per pupil stipend. The rate of pay will be $270/student for all courses other than physical education (including wellness) which will be paid at a rate $160/student.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Deliver online lessons, using District approved instructional materials adapted to an online learning environment.
2. Promote student success through clear expectations, prompt responses, and regular feedback.
3. Utilize and incorporate strategies to encourage active learning, application, interaction, participation, and collaboration in the online environment.
4. Evaluate students' academic growth and keep appropriate records.
5. Demonstrate competency in using data from assessments and other data sources to adjust instruction.
6. Communicate as needed with parents by means of Schoology messages, phone calls, emails, and/or virtual or in person conferences, etc.
7. Work in a supportive and collaborative manner with Tonka Online Coordinator and supervisors.
8. Demonstrate competence in implementing assessments in online learning environments in ways that ensure validity and reliability of the instruments and procedures.
9. Participate in professional learning in an effort to stay current with best teaching practices in an online learning environment.
10. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Collaborative work in a fast-paced environment interacting with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community with multiple requests and concerns.
2. Support and communicate with other administrators and staff.
3. Respond in emergency situations.
4. Know, interpret, and follow school District policies.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate skills in performing daily routines.
2. Demonstrated ability to operate a computer, software and necessary technology.
3. Ability to develop effective and positive working relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community.

6. Effectively communicate and have interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
