Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking to hire a student assistant, in a learning capacity, to work under the close supervision of the Chief, Office of Building Information Modeling for Infrastructure (BIM4I) Delivery and Guidance.
In a learning capacity, the Engineering Student Assistant will assist the Chief, Office of Building Information Modeling for Infrastructure (BIM4I) Delivery and Guidance, in tasks related to implementing BIM4I into Caltrans workflows. BIM4I uses three-dimension (3D) model-based digital information to improve collaboration, quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the stages of planning, design, construction, maintenance, operations, and asset life-cycle management. By using a reliable, shared digital environment, BIM4I enables Caltrans and externals to visualize projects in 3D, manage data effectively across a project's lifecycle, and improve communication between functional units. Once a project is completed, the digital model and its associated data will improve management of the transportation assets.
